We are the Incarnation Parish School Eagles. Our goal is to prepare players in a faith-filled environment fostering healthy competition, respect, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Our Eagles teams compete in the Verdugo League North Region of the Catholic Youth Organization’s (CYO) athletic programs sponsored by Catholic Charities of Los Angeles. The CYO is committed to providing a wholesome outlet for a student’s physical energy while strengthening the student athlete’s spiritual and social values.
For all sports at Incarnation, the (CYO) divides sports into two distinct groups. “A” Varsity and “B”.
Dependent on the number of Incarnation student participants, most sports offered by our acclaimed sports department begin in the 5th grade.
Varsity “A” Level – Mainly for 7th & 8th grade, though if needed, skilled 5th and 6th graders may participate after a try-out. Varsity level constitutes ‘competition’ and not ‘play’. Varsity level acknowledges conference and CYO champions from a team/school perspective and recognizes athletes on an individual basis. The “A” level has an end of season playoff structure. If our teams qualify, Incarnation Parish School goes on to compete against other CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Los Angeles area schools in bracket ‘win or go home' play.
“B” Level – Mainly for students in grades 6 and below. The B teams are for developmental level of play. The focus is on basic understanding/knowledge of the rules, game strategies, and the building of fundamental skills within the sport of play. Equal playing time and confidence building are major themes. Student athletes in grades 7 and above are not eligible to play B level sports. There are no playoffs, though games are also officiated by referee(s).
One of the many special benefits participating in Incarnation after school sports is having the opportunity playing in our very own Incarnation Community Center Gym.
