The art program here at Incarnation focuses on students creating and appreciating art. Learning is based on looking and drawing to discover how to delineate what one observes and sees. These basic skills are introduced through the use of graphite and color pencils, charcoal and sienna. Beyond these core skills, students learn about perspective, color, chiaroscuro, and composition. They explore alternative approaches such as painting, collage, frottage, printing and engraving. Ultimately, the art program aims to tap into the innate creativity of each student.
In the spring, artwork from K-8th grades is presented at the Annual Student Art Exhibition.
