Middle School Math students will understand concepts and demonstrate ability to transfer skills across content areas and apply concepts and skills to real-life situations. Students will learn how to:

Problem Solve – Students will demonstrate the ability to make sense of problems and persevere in solving them, plan solutions, apply a variety of appropriate strategies, build new knowledge, solve practical “real world” problems, and check for reasonableness of results.

Communicate & Represent – Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate to others using clear definitions and symbolic representations, perform calculations, organize and manipulate mathematical symbols accurately and efficiently, and express numerical answers with precision.

Model Math – Students will demonstrate the ability to identify important quantities in practical situations, map their relationships using a variety of representations, and analyze those relationships mathematically to draw conclusions.
