4th Grade Curriculum

Welcome to fourth grade!

Fourth grade is a year of becoming responsible and independent, yet continuing to be a team player.  Students can be seen working together to create common core standards-based projects for many of the subjects and technology is used to enhance lessons in many of the subjects.  They use core literature as part of their reading program.  This year's books include "Abel's Island" and "Esperanza Rising."  They have a vocabulary series in addition to their spelling.

Exploring algorithms for multiplication and learning the long division process in addition to fractions, geometry, measurement and graphs are included in the math curriculum.  In Social Studies, they learn about the history of California - its geography, exploration and colonization, the gold rush, statehood, and changes.  Mission Projects are their specialties!

The Ten Commandments, Beatitudes, Works of Mercy and Parts of the Mass are part of the Religion curriculum.  They even take a role in hosting a class mass.  Students also continue to work on building their faith and character and apply it to everyday choices.

With so much to learn and do, fourth grade has fun accomplishing their goals and going beyond!
